Photography and engagement, are you in the game to win with new connections?

We are in the digital image age and any impression a business shares, has is about 3 seconds to do it’s job to determine if a potential client might click on the photo for more information when a link is included. Photography is the doorway to engagement™ so your first impression is going to set the tone for winning in the marketing game.

Advertising today has to have an image with the “gottcha” factor.

Big companies are sharing images created by consumers on Instagram and Pinterest to encourage engagement and sharing of their business profiles and links.  The images anyone is posting on social media venues have the potential of being shared all over the world.  This new technique of connecting should inspire anyone looking to promote their own business, product or service to have the best photos possible to share in an methodical program to bring continuity to the story being told to bring a consumer to action.  That call to action can be sharing the post or opening a link which asks the consumer to make a decision to buy or subscribe to a newsletter.  The key to getting that call to action in motion is the graphic or photo shown to stimulate the behavior.   To be in the game as the business or consumer the images you post must create an emotions when viewed.

Home Depot has a Halloween Event going on with a daily theme of photos to share on Instagram.   The program is called the “Photo-A-Day Challenge.”  Home Depot has invited the public to share photos on Halloween or Fall with specific themes for seven days prior to Halloween.  You can see the themes in the graphic identified by day.

Interesting how Home Depot is taking the word #inspiration as one of the hashtags as anyone searching the word, inspiration will come across the Home Depot tags by hundreds or thousands of posts of consumers in the game.

Home Depot has a social media team that commented within 2 minutes of posting this photos of leaves.  Instagram is ONLY a mobile app and consumers can only be accessing this Instagram event on their photos.  For Photographers this is a great way to get some of your work out.  There is an app called iWatermark to have your name added to the photo for additional exposure.
