If You Have Been Crawling Your Enitre Life, Can You Really fly?

Think about caterpillars do they always turn into butterflies with wings?
Good question!

Linda Christensen of Black Diamond Life Style Management & Concierge contacted me and explained Angela Chase, the Author of “Discover Your Wings” had an important message to share and I might be interested in hearing what she had to say.  Linda was right, I read the book and felt a sense of freedom with a new consciousness about “wings, butterflies and caterpillars.” I became aware in a short read how people can have a deadly effect on others without even knowing it!

Meet Angela Chase, Author of “Discover Your Wings.”

Had difficulty in school.
Had alcoholism in her family and her family projected she might have many problems in life.

Angela, believed in herself and listened to her heart.

Improved her grades.
Graduated from college.
Has published 3 books.
Has no addiction issues.

I will be interviewing Angela Chase on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time on Blogtalkradio.  Listen online or call in 347-994-1903. A live chat will also be open to ask any questions you might have of Angela.
The book is created in a format that allows a freedom to develop new ideas with the interesting characters and  really points out lessons that can easily be overlooked.
Parents, friends and neighbors can unknowingly cause people to question their ability to accomplish anything  they set their mind to.

Questions like:
1.  Are you good enough?

2.  Can you really do anythihng?

3.  Does your background limit your forward progress?

Does FEAR hold you hostage from going forward in life?

After reading about the confident butterfly, the reader is guided through a series of exercises that will show how to overcome limiting beliefs and break free of the cocoon of mis-beliefs that could be holding a person back.

Is flying an option after spending life crawling on the ground?

Book Signing in Broomfield, CO Black Friday!

Big Fun In Broomfield, Colorado on Black Friday!

Need to reduce stress and create balance in your life?

Last year many people laughed at me and my blog post as I got up at 3:00 a.m. to go to Best Buy with my daughter and her fiance in Flagstaff, Arizona to buy a TV.  I do want you to know that I love the small notebook computer I picked up on that day for only $125.00 and think of it every time I am in a class with my small lightweight unit taking notes. I did say I was not going to get up at 3:00 a.m. again so I have some new fun for this year and Black Friday!

Becky Hancock CEO of Calico Books has invited me to a book signing on Black Friday, in my hometown of  Broomfield, Colorado from 10 to 2 at 300 Nickel St.

Calico Books is a trendy “green” book store where a reader can come and “recycle” current books and find hidden treasures. They are branching out to the “new book” line and have already hosted two

local authors prior to this event and will be hosting two more local authors  before Christmas. Calico Books is intended to be far more than just a used bookstore. It’s a place to come and enjoy a cup of coffee or cocoa (free of charge) and find a new author to enjoy or bring books in for Trade Credit.

There will be a number of sales going on in the store where the standard prices are already half-off the cover price of the books. Both the paperback and audio versions of the book Cosmic Cow Pie…Connecting The Dots will be half-off the retail price for Black Friday only.

There will be 10 free monkeys for the first 10 book purcahses and buttons that correspond with the chapters in the book for each person who buys throughout the day.

Eleanor Alden Author of StepWisdom will be at the Black Friday event sharing wonderful ways to deal with step family situations in a loving way.

Calico Books is the daughter-store of Booklover’s Used Bookstore in Fort Collins, CO. Both stores are owned by Becky’s family, while Calico Books is hers to manage. Becky has already made many steps towards integrating the store with the Broomfield community and trying to provide services which might not be available elsewhere. In addition to carrying local authors, Calico Books is also supporting the community by carrying gift items that have been hand-crafted by locals-such as gift cards, bookmarks, book covers, and even purses.

Becky brings with her six years experience working as a bookseller and manager in her family’s store along with a lifelong passion of reading. She moved into the Denver Area this past summer in preparation for opening the store and has kept busy ever since. She is continually trying to find new ways in which she can be an asset to the community and improve the store’s accessibility and offerings as a whole.

Please stop by to meet Becky and talk about how you might be able to create a “customer” event in her book store!

Becky, Eleanor and I feel that stress relief and balance is of major interest especially during the holidays when the effort of preparing for gatherings, parties, or getting packages shipped on time  carry with them a high degree of stress. We hope to provide a brief respite during the frenzy of Black Friday along with the tools to reduce stress and friction over the holidays and well into the New Year.

The book “Cosmic Cow Pie…Connecting The Dots” shares my experience in navigating the Cosmic Cow Pie of life.  I am currently an author, speaker, real estate and small business consultant.  This first book in the Cosmic Cow Pie series, includes an integrated principle-centered approach for solving problems with penetrating insights and pointed anecdotes. The reader will find reality writing and honest which might inspire the application of fourteen principles which will help anyone trying to adapt in today’s evolving world to reduce stress and create balance.

Click the link to get a free chapter of latest crowd sourced e-book project entitled “Cosmic Shift Happens tm. “ As consumers are exposed to “mean monkeys” in cyber space, the “crowd” felt it was important for individuals to understand a little bit about the thinking of some “predators” who could be lurking in the dark side of social media. The content will help readers be prepared with a mechanism to cope and forge through the mental anxiety of the cyber abuse.  Understanding the rules of engagement in cyber space and how to respond should help avoid “Social Media Syndrome tm” Knowledge is power and understanding the rules of engagement can make social media much more fun and exciting.

Mid December should be the e-launch of four children/parent e-workbooks, which follow some of the principles identified in Cosmic Cow Pie…Connecting The Dots. The links show video of children using the principles to maintain balance.

If you would like to get on a list to be notified when the children’s books will be available please register here for the newsletter and we will keep you up to date on the release. We are designing a new Cosmic Cow and will be having a “name that cow” contest.  The newsletter format will be video Cow Tips.. so follow the action and sign up now. Cosmic Cow Pie… Kids Rules For Life will also be coming out soon.

I look forward to talking to you on Black Friday from 10 to 2 at Calico Book store in Broomfiled, Colorado at 300 Nickel.

Mexican Prisons and Drug Smuggling

Do you remember Midnight Express?

Have you ever thought about how people get involved in being drug smugglers?  How an ordinary person could get caught up with a drama hook so big they risk everything for drug money?

Story Summary: The Mirror Maze is an inspiring true story of incredible human survival, courage, triumph, overcoming obstacles, pain and suffering from the power of the light within and the ability to make the best of a situation against all odds. It has very powerful humanitarian messages. In the 1980s, a Norwegian businessman, Tom Brungar, had an increasing drug problem that ultimately pulled him into an international cocaine trafficking operation, while vacationing in Ibiza. He was arrested along with his partner at the Mexico City airport, while smuggling cocaine from Peru to California. He then served five years in a series of Mexican prisons, where he quickly found that corruption is just as rampant among the officials as in the outside world. Half of his time was in four prisons in Mexico City and the remainder on the notorious Islas des Marias. The Mirror Maze has a strong anti-drug message and displays that inhumane treatment and torture must stop in the name of humanity. In a world seemingly without hope, he achieves the impossible via amazing perseverance, strength, faith, meditation, self-therapy and transformation of awareness. His good heart, honesty, intelligence, strong ethics, talents and ability to quickly learn the culture and language helps him befriend fellow prisoners and amuse his captors. He also meets and falls in love with Adriana, the prison psychologist, who with the help of the Norwegian embassy obtains his release. This account is multi-faceted, intertwining Tom’s personal, philosophical and spiritual revelations on a foundation of socio-political issues. The title signifies the “Mirror” he sees himself in and the “Maze” he travels through to arrive at the exit. Upon his release, he went back to Norway where he was welcomed home and worked for the Norwegian government to assist immigrant refugees. Our sweet Tom lived a peaceful life until age 65. His wish and promise to God was that his story be told and we are carrying this out. Novel and Screenplay by Tom Brungar and Lisa Walker.

“There are a number of times during our lives when we reach a crossroads, such as adolescence and early adulthood, to name a few. None is as disconcerting as the 55+ crossroads, especially for women. After all, this is the time when you thought you’d look back with pride at your accomplishments, settle into spoiling your grandchildren,or finally read those books you neglected. You may have even made grander plans, but society, the economy, technology and even the climate changed. Now at age 55+ you find yourself at a very different crossroads than the one you imagined, if you even thought about it all. Perhaps you’re bored with your predictable life, or laid off from your job years short of your planned retirement date, or worse, facing fears due to loss of your savings, health challenges, a divorce or adult kids living lifestyles you don’t understand. You could collapse in the middle of the road and wait for a truck to run over you. But that’s not very productive.”

Join us on BlogTalkRadio as Flora Brown shares insite with 5 things the 55+ woman in particular can do at the crossroads of life that will lead to transformation.

Father Serafim Gascoigne on Carra Riley Live!

Father Serafim Gascoigne Author of “The Landing Place” is coming to Williams, Arizona on his book tour and will be interviewed on Carra Riley Live!

International Intrigue!

Do spy novels peak your interest!

How wild is your imagination?

Father Serafim Gascoigne Author of “The Landing Place” will be a guest on CarraRileyLive 9-9-10 at 2 p.m. PDT in Williams, Arizona.

Reverend Serafim Gascoigne was born in London in 1944 and has lived in the USA for fourteen years and currently in California. He Father Serafin Gascoigneserved as a Russian linguist in the British Army in Berlin during the ‘Cold War’ and also worked as a German interpreter.

In Berlin he came across first hand experiences of Russians who had lived in Siberia, committing their stories to memory to be used later for his own writing.

After leaving the army he taught in London and rural parts of England, and was a pioneer in computer education in the 1980s.

During this time he published educational computer books with Macmillan and later with Sybex (John Wiley) and IDG. He traveled to eastern Turkey and central Siberia where he met the archetypes for his fictional characters. He also traveled to Lebanon and Syria, visiting Christian communities and pursuing his interest in ancient languages and cultures.

In 2008, he saw a need for teen novels that are family-friendly with traditional heroes and heroines and decided to draw on his vast experience and write his own. Rev Serafim is currently a presbyter of an Eastern Orthodox parish in Seattle.

Great reviews on this Book of intrigue!

  • Fr. Serafim Gascoigne has a delightful grasp of the English language and paints magnificent pictures with hisThe Landing Place cover graphic descriptions in this suspenseful read. Every page arouses your curiosity leading you to turn pages faster and faster. He blends history, drama, romance and deep life lessons within the content of the book. The series of complications involved with “The Landing Place” and the interesting characters creates a book you will not want to put down. The fascinating storyline with a Russian Imperial Air force pilot discovering the secrets of “the mountain” keeps your attention throughout the book and leaves you wanting more from the author.
  • In the early 20th century, a young pilot in the Russian Imperial Air Force crash lands on Mount Ararat on a reconnaissance mission. Thus starts an adventure that touches on the mysterious and the miraculous. The author has a clear sense of place; everything, including the rocks, the plants, and the weather, is described in vivid and lively terms. The story itself is engaging and holds the reader’s interest throughout. A good read for young adult readers and their families.
  • I found myself mesmerized by a time and place in history of which–I realized–I know very little. The author has a masterful way with language and creates both the suspense and the humanity that takes the reader into a different emotional space. Like others, I could not put it down. I’d like to see a sequel so I know what happens to the main characters. Just a delightful read. I hope there are more!
  • Move over CS Lewis, another teller of tales that makes us seek our God has just arrived. I started reading “The Landing Place” in the afternoon. It was going to be a summer reading project. I could not put it down. In the wee hours of the morning I was racing through the finish and wanting to start it again. I only put it down once, to let the dog in, and was exasperated to have to leave the action for even a brief moment. Father Serafim Gascoigne has captured characters so passionate, so real that anyone would care what happens to them. I spent the next day feeling I know these people. His descriptions of the people, myths and culture are also accurate. I have traveled to many of the cultures involved here and can tell you he captured smells, flavors and myths and mystical powers to perfection. Children will love this book. Not only is it a moral tale, it is based on no other place than the mountain site of Noah’s Ark. Parents will love to read this tale to their youngsters. But be prepared for begging to read “one more” chapter every night.

I am very excited to meet Father Serafim Gascoigne in person on September 9, 2008 in Williams, Arizona and do an interview on CarraRileyLive at 2 p.m. PDT. Join us LIVE to hear all about his background and history which makes the book even more exciting.

Check out the website to purchase the book.

“Wow! What an exciting book. It starts off with a bang, grabbing you from the first page and then racing along, full of thrills, leaving the reader exhausted and illuminated.” ~Brian Tracy, Author, Success is a Journey
